Deepmoor Tunnel Composting Facility Gets ABPR Approval
The 15,000 tonne/year tunnel composting facility at Deepmoor, North Devon completed its ABPR validation in August 2010. The facility has been developed for Devon County Council to process the combined domestic green and food waste arising in the local area. The facility consists of a reception building, 6 x 20m composting tunnels, an outdoor aearated static pile, compost storage area, biofilters and effluent management systems. The compost is currently being used as a soil conditioner in the local area.

Celtic BioEnergy Completes Delivery of Pasteurisation Plant on Inis Mor
The small scale composting operation developed by Timpelleacht na hOilean on Inis Mor received full ABPR approval in May 2010. The facility includes for a liquid phase pasteurisation system to ensure compliance with Irish ABPR requirements. The homogenisation and maceration of the incoming food waste to <12mm with the resultant material being pasteurised at 70 degrees C for one hour under computer control. The output is then pumped to a mixing wagon where the pasteurised sludge is blended with compost and bulking materials prior to being composted and screened. The compost is ultimatley used as a soil conditioner on the island.

Ballyshannon Recycling Biogas Plant Goes On Line
The Ballyshannon biogas facility in Adamstown Co. Wexford was completed in December 2010. The facility consists of two plants. The first processes cattle manure and cheese waste and is licensing as a farm digester. The second plant is a dedicated bio-waste treatment facility. The latter facility consists of a reception hall that houses a reception pit, mixing equipment and twin pasteurisation and hydrolisis tanks. Digestion occurs within a 1,200m3 gas mixed digester with the digestate being held in a sealed bag tank prior to land application. The facility is rated at 200 kWe1 with most of the renewable heat being re-used in the process.

Celtic BioEnergy forms Joint venture with Jones Engineering Group
In November 2010, CBE and JEG came together to form Jones Celtic BioEnergy (JCBE). This Joint Venture has been formed for the purposes of delivering on high quality bioenergy projects throughout Europe. JEG bring a wealth of experience in the field of energy infrastructure provision that fits very well with the core biological treatment expertise of Celtic.JEG is one of the largest multi-disciplined engineering contracting company's in Ireland. Projects currently under development include a net work of biomass digestion plants, a bio-methane upgrade facility for the production of vehicular fuel and a number of medium to large scale MBT facilities.
